A game designer is a person who gives birth to the idea of a computer game.
In the course you will learn
- what game design is, how to get a job as a game designer, what skills from everyday life will help you in this unusual profession;
- what game design documentation includes and how to create it
- how to choose a game theme, which games are worthy and not worthy of development. Realism in games – how much is needed;
- how to build relationships in the team;
- get acquainted with the management functions of a game designer;
- learn about the intricacies of project management – workflow, bug tracker, etc;
- how to make your own game, where to get money for it, and how big the risks are when working on your personal project;
- how to work as a game designer remotely;
During the course, you will learn about the stages of game development, the mechanics of a game project, and work on various practical tasks that will help you create your first conceptual game document. Learn the basic principles of the Agile methodology for game projects, learn how to calculate the estimated budget of the game.
Students of the course will do practical homework, allowing them to practice the acquired skills.
The course consists of 24 lessons divided into three main blocks. The course duration is 12 weeks.
